Jaana Gaana Mana...

Happy Independence Day. Welcome to self-governing India protected and liberated from all foreign invasions.
How our Pakistan and China borders are infiltrated is of course something that we have to overlook today. Incidents such as the 26/11 attack also need to be forgotten as a freak accident of nature.

A Tale of Christmas and Brand Compliance

Posted in

As we leave another Christmas and an old year behind and head towards the New Year, I would like to narrate my favourite Christmas tale. This tale is not about an orphan child, a miser, a poor beggar or a princess. It is a tale of something that is as intrinsic part of Christmas today as Christmas tree and gifts; I am talking about commerce and marketing!  It’s a wonderful tale of “Brand Compliance”.

How Safe are you on the Web?

My best past time every night is to sit with my laptop and browse through the emails ending up with the new messages and scraps being posted on my scrap book. Like many can I ever hold the temptation of going through the updates displayed by my friends on their respective facebook, myspace and orkut accounts?

AIDS. The very mention of the four letter word sends a shudder down our body. HIV which devastated a large part of the human population in the 1980’s with almost 200000 reported cases worldwide in 1986 alone is something we are still fighting to come to terms with.
What has aggravated the situation is the tabooness attached to it.

An Ode To a Mighty Little Champion

Way back in 1988, during the course of a Ranji trophy match between Delhi and Bombay, couple of players in the Delhi side who had represented the country were convinced that a school boy in the rival side was destined to become an all time great. During that contest, they had witnessed a spectacle from a 15 year old boy from arguably the best seat in the house, the playing field!!!.

This date shall forever remain as a bloodied memory in the historical annals of India as a testimony of our vulnerability. For a moment it seemed like the impenetrable safety net of our country had been pierced. The city of dreams- Mumbai was burning.
