Haldiram owner Prabhu Shankar Agarwal was sentenced to life in prison for his role in a conspiracy to kill a tea stall owner who refused to vacate a building where Agarwal wanted to set up business. His four co-conspirators received lesser sentences.
When Agarwal's hired guns went to kill stall owner Satyanarayan Sharma in March 2005, he was away. They then decided to shoot his nephew who was currently manning the stall.
Agarwal was out of the country at the time, to debut a new shop in London. He was arrested at IGI Airport in Delhi upon his return to the country.
