Cheers! : To Decant or not to Decant?

Posted in

This is a question I often get and the short answer is “It Depends”. It depends on several factors – for one, it depends on who you ask. And it depends on what kind of wine you are having.

Summer white wines!

“White Wine Please” – It’s summer and it’s time to break out those whites. So the next time you are about to order a glass of white, keep these four different varieties in mind and make your choice based on your personal taste preferences. Although there are hundreds of different varieties in this world -between old world and new world grapes, I’d like to talk about four of the most common, most commercial and most readily available white wines in almost all parts of the world.

When Expectations Exceed: A Great Find, A Great Prosecco!

love wine but it’s not just a passion, it’s an outlet for me to unwind and appreciate all the time, effort and art that goes into packaging a bottle. For wine is much like our lives or the people in them, a bottle either meets our expectations or doesn’t and sometimes we get one that exceeds. So I experiment until I find all those bottles out there that over deliver ((the corporate work ethic in me ) Shopping for wine is just like shopping for a dress, you look for the one that fits your mood, your body, your taste. It is so individual and so much fun.

Serving Red Wine

Posted in

Why is that most people (and bars and restaurants) I know will serve wine at or above room temperature? Granted it’s red wine but most people are unaware that the temperature wine is served at can greatly affect tastes. Alcohol will bite when served at room temperature and you can’t really taste the flavors within a bottle without feeling and tasting the warmth.
